Kiss Me, Kate
Kist Me, Kate is a musical with lyrics and music written by Cole Porter. It is considered a play within a play and was a personal triumph for Cole Porter who was thought to be past his prime at that point when he helped put together the music for it. It ran over 1000 performances on Broadway and won the Tony Award for the Best Musical in 1949. With songs such as “Too Darn Hot” and “So In Love” it was no wonder that Kiss Me, Kate was such a big hit. It was an exciting romance that left you almost breathless. The music too was unbelievable for the time, which you can definitely understand when you hear it on vinyl.
