The work of this Italian composer, singer and gambist was considered to be revolutionary and marked the transition from the Renaissance period to Baroque. Claudio Monteverdi wrote one of the earliest operas called L’Orfeo which is still performed today. But it was The Quinto Libro that was his most controversial and moving. When you listen to his works on vinyl you are truly stunned with his deep pieces of work.
