  • Miles Davis And The Modern Jazz Giants

Miles Davis and the Modern Jazz Giants is a studio album by jazz legend Miles Davis. Most of the album was recorded in 1954 and released four years later for Prestige Records. The 1954 recording session marks the only time that Thelonious Monk worked with Davis in the studio – sadly, the two great jazz artists did not get along very well. Rumor has it that the two legends even confronted each other physically during these recordings. The myth was, however, dispelled by Ira Gitler, who was present at the recording session. The track “Round Midnight” is the only one on the album that is from a different (1956) recording session.
