  • Chris Isaak

“Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing.” It was hard not to get sucked into Chris Isaak’s moody, rockabilly-noir world on this 1995 song (featured in Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut), just like it was hard not to get sucked into his Roy Orbison-like croon on his breakout 1990 single “Wicked Game” (featured in the David Lynch film Wild at Heart). Beginning with 1989’s multi-platinum Heart Shaped World, Isaak enjoyed a string of successful albums throughout the ’90s featuring classics like “Somebody’s Crying” that stood in stark contrast to the rest of the decade’s sound. He even had a Showtime series, The Chris Isaak Show, which aired from 2001 to 2004! What should come as no surprise is that Isaak’s velvety croon and reverb-rich debt to Memphis’ Sun Records translates gorgeously to vinyl.
