    Pink Floyd released their five-song progressive, concept album Animals in January 1977 in the UK and February in the US. The album’s tracks, naturally, were named after animals, such as “Dogs, Sheep, and Pigs On The Wing.” The album was a hit in the UK, as it peaked at number 2 during the punk rock era. It was almost as successful in the US by reaching number 3 on the Billboard album charts. The album as become one of the band’s biggest sellers and was certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA. Animals was originally released on Harvest in the UK and Columbia in the US and was produced by the band. EMI in the UK, and Capitol in the US, have remastered and re-released the album.
