Patti Smith
Patti Smith was an influential punk rock singer that was often referred to as the “Godmother of Punk.” With her debut album “Horses” she immediately gained the notoriety as one of the best poetry singers in the country. Patti Smith is most widely known for “Because the Night” which reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. Just recently she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Her unladylike language and inspiring lyrics should be listened to on vinyl to fully appreciate.
