Jackie “Moms” Mabley” was one of the most successful entertainers of the black vaudeville stage known as the “Chitlin’ Circuit.” She made her New York City debut at Connie’s Inn in Harlem and never looked back. It was the 1960’s that she became a true all around performer and comedian when she started playing to a wider white audience, and even being invited to do her stand up act at Carnegie Hall in 1962. One of her funniest bits can be heard on the vinyl album “Young Men, Si – Old Men, No which was about her preference for handsome younger men.
