New Wave
New Wave refers to a genre of rock music that was tied to the punk movement of the mid 1970’s, but less edgy and more poppy. New Wave was a huge hit in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Some of the more famous bands in the New Wave movement include Duran Duran, Blondie, Patti Smith, and the Talking Heads. The New Wave movement was at its peak just as music videos started popping up, and many of these artists achieved massive fame for their music videos.
