  • Selflessness: Featuring My Favorite Things

    In 1965, John Coltrane released an album entitled Selflessness Featuring My Favorite Things. This jazz album contains recordings done on two different occasions. The first recoding was done on July 7, 1963 at the Newport Jazz Festival. Some of the other tracks heard in this CD would come from the recording done on October 14, 1965 in Los Angeles. In this great album, we hear john Coltrane on the tenor saxophone. We also hear Pharoah Sanders on the tenor saxophone but in only the 3rd track. On piano, we hear McCoy Tyner. While on double bass we hear Jimmy Garrison and Donald Garrett. Donald Garett can also be heard on the bass clarinet. On drums are Frank Butler and Elvin Jones on the 3rd track while Roy Haynes takes over the first and second track. Lastly for vocals and percussion, Juno Lewis takes over in the 3rd track.
