Sonny Rollins, a popular jazz tenor saxophonist, started his career at age 11 and is still touring today almost 90 years after he was born. Working with some of the best in the business, Sonny Rollins developed a name for himself after recording “Modern Jazz Quartet” with Miles Davis. Several years later he pioneered the use of bass and drums as an accompaniment for his saxophone solos, which is called “strolling.” With over 50 albums that are a joy to listen to on vinyl, Sonny Rollins can be considered a huge influence on jazz.
