Directed by famed director Stanley Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey is a science fiction film that is notable for its scientific realism and pioneering special effects. Considered one of the greatest films ever made, 2001: A Space Odyssey is also highly regarded as a great soundtrack, especially when you hear it on vinyl. The music plays a crucial role in the film for many reasons including the fact that it was primarily a non-verbal film. Other than that though it was the non-traditional techniques of narrative cinema where the music was almost a character in itself. The use of classical music such as “Lux Aeterna” really made the soundtrack a hit among Space Odyssey fans.
