Fantasia was a 1940 animated film that was produced by Walt Disney and is the third film in the classics series. Consisting of classical music by the Philadelphia Orchestra, Fantasia has one of the most well known soundtracks to an animated movie. Fantasia was notable for being the first major film released in stereophonic sound as well. Some of the works are considered to be program music which means that they depict stories in their sound which makes them sound all the better on vinyl. Some of those pieces include “Toccata and Fugue” as well as the “Nutcracker Suite.”
