  • Scissor Sisters

Glam, disco, and double entendres: this is New York’s Scissor Sisters. Singers Jake Shears and Ana Matronic, keyboardist/bassist Babydaddy, guitarist Del Marquis, and drummer Paddy Boom caught the world’s attention in 2004 with their disco-fied cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” and self-titled debut album as Scissor Sisters. Especially well received in the UK, Scissor Sisters swept the 2005 BRIT Awards and were the first band to win in all three International categories. Sleazy, fun, and irreverent, they also have a substance that transcends the typical theatrical novelty act. It’s won over everyone from Bono to Kelly Ripa, and earned the group opening slots for U2, Duran Duran, and Depeche Mode, and collaborations with the likes of Elton John and Kylie Minogue.
