With only four albums to their credit, Wild Cherry has certainly made an impression on music history. This funk and rock band was popular during the mid to late 1970’s; especially with their mega hit “Play That Funky Music” which came out in 1976. Both the single and self-titled debut album went platinum and received an AMA award for Top R&B Single of the Year as well as two Grammy nominations. Their next albums such as “Electrified Funk” didn’t gain the notoriety of the first album, but are still awesome to listen to on vinyl.
