  • Edgar Winter

Multi-instrumentalist Edgar Winter is another insanely talented musician from the Winter family – his brother being famed blues guitarist Johnny Winter. A prolific songwriter, Edgar has explored many genres including rock, jazz, blues, and pop over the course of his career and is most recognizable rocking out onstage with a keyboard strapped to him. He released the back-to-back hit albums Edgar Winter’s White Trash (1971) and Roadwork (1972) with his band White Trash. Then with the Edgar Winter Group, he hit it big with the songs “Free Ride” and “Frankenstein,” two classic rock staples from the band’s multi-platinum 1973 album, They Only Come Out at Night. Winter’s music has been featured in numerous films and television shows from My Cousin Vinny to Wayne’s World 2 to Tupac Resurrection; however, it is best experienced on vinyl.
