  • Darkness on the Edge of Town

After a three year hiatus, Bruce Springsteen followed up his hit album “Born to Run” with another great album “Darkness on the Edge of Town.”  As one of his most popular albums, this album surprisingly didn’t produce any high charting singles yet was able to stay on the charts for 97 weeks.  It showed his staying power with critics and fans alike.  With pensive songs such as “Badlands” and “The Promised Land” this entire album was much more personal than the previous three.  Even the cover of the album shows Springsteen’s home, alluding to the fact that this album was not made just for commercial success for the thrill of recording a meaningful and perceptive album.  Thirty years after it was completed a documentary called “The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town” was produced to go along with the remade box set.
