    Leadbelly

Huddie William Ledbetter, better known as Leadbelly, was a folk and blues musician during the 1930’s and 1940’s. Recognizable because of his clear and forceful singing, Leadbelly was also an amazing twelve string guitar player and used that frequently during his music compositions. Leadbelly was also known for the rich folk standards that he introduced, and was often thought of as a pioneer in his era. In some of his more popular songs such as “John Hardy” he was even known to play the accordion as well as mandolin, violin, harmonica and concertina. His Lead Belly Legacy Volumes 1, 2, and 3 were released in the late 1990’s and are some of his more popular collections which by the way sound fantastic on vinyl.
