A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a popular musical based on the farces of the ancient Roman playwright Plautus. It is extremely funny and has many satirical comments on the social class. Opening on Broadway in 1962 it won several Tony Awards for its unique storyline. The song from the original soundtrack of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, “Comedy Tonight” is one of the fan favorites making the show a true success. The score written by Sondheim is one of the best when you listen to it on vinyl.
