Wolfgang Mozart is one of the pivotal figures in European classical music. Considered to be one of the greatest composers of all time, Mozart was an inspiration to several key musicians, including Beethoven. Mozart only lived to be 35, but during his short life, he produced hundreds of compositions, many of which are still famous and performed widely today. Mozart was a musical prodigy, who began writing compositions at age 5.
