Dr. Demento is the well known stage name of Barret Eugene Hansen who was a radio DJ specializing in novelty songs and pop music parodies. Still on the air since 1970, Dr. Demento is best known as the man who brought Weird Al Yankovic to national attention. He even appeared in some of his videos in the 1980’s. The best compilations of Dr. Demento include “Dr. Demento’s Delights” and “Dr. Demento Presents the Greatest Novelty Records of All Time” which are hysterical when you hear it on vinyl.
