A Tribe Called Quest
Formed in 1988, A Tribe Called Quest is a hip hop group that was a central part of the Native Tongues Posse along with De La Soul. A Tribe Called Quest received the most commercial success out of the group because of their innovate fusing of hip hop and jazz. Regarded as classics of their genre, songs like “Can I Kick It?” and “Applebum” are huge in the industry. In the 10 years that they were together they released 5 critically acclaimed albums and are still considered pioneers of alternative hip hop music. They just recently received a Special Achievement Award for their work. Listening to A Tribe Called Quest on vinyl is truly a great experience.
