Sugarhill Gang
If you are like most people you have heard and memorized the song “Rapper’s Delight” produced by The Sugarhill Gang. This American hip hop and funk group had the first hip hop single ever to become a top 40 hit. Selling more than 8 million copies of this single has solidified them as one of the best “one hit wonders” of the 20th century. Although they have gone on to make children’s albums and other singles, it was “Rapper’s Delight” that still delights audience’s world wide. Heard on vinyl it brings you right back to the late 70’s where critics said hip hop would never last. How wrong they were!
