  • Get Up With It

Miles Davis released his two-hour double album Get Up with It in November 1974, after recording it between 1970 and 1974 at Columbia Studios in New York City. It was Davis’ last studio album before taking five years off from the music business. “He Loved Him Madly” is a 32-minute jazz tribute to the great Duke Ellington. The album was originally released on the Columbia record label and was produced by Teo Macero. Get Up with It also featured appearances by several noted musicians including Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham, John McLaughlin, and Al Foster. The album has since been re-mastered and re-released.
