  • Paul Simon

Paul Simon has enjoyed an extraordinary music career spanning six decades. One half of the folk duo Simon & Garfunkel, he wrote such No. 1 hits as “Mrs. Robinson,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and “The Sound of Silence” in the ’60s. After the folk duo split in 1970, Simon proved himself to be one of the most versatile and adventurous songwriters in pop. He took the world by surprise in 1986 with his album Graceland. Though he had embraced world music in the past with songs like “Mother and Child Reunion” and “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” Graceland combined pop, a cappella, and South African township music performed by South African musicians like the Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It became Simon’s most celebrated album, earning two Grammy Awards and going five times platinum. Simon’s solo catalog is one of the most diverse, well crafted, and influential in all of popular music – and it sounds incredible on vinyl.
