As a successful R&B, disco and soul music band, Tavares was very much underrated in the eyes of the critics. With only a handful of number one hits including “It Only Takes a Minute” and “Whodunit” they were really only successful with the people who bought their albums. However, they bought a lot of them, making them one of the highest selling groups of 1975. With one Grammy for their remake of “More Than a Woman” they still sound tremendous on vinyl.
