My Morning Jacket
My Morning Jacket is a Southern rock band from Louisville, Kentucky formed by Jim James in 1998. Initially recording his vocals in a grain silo, the band’s early work is characterized by its reverb-heavy sound. Over the course of the past decade, however, My Morning Jacket has challenged boundaries and experimented with genre lines, incorporating everything from psych to funk to reggae. An incredible live act, the quintet is popular on the festival circuit, even performing a four-hour long set at Bonnaroo in 2008. But there’s no topping their sound on vinyl.
