  • The Stone Roses

This English alternative rock band helped pioneer the Madchester movement of the late ‘80s and early ‘90s by combining acid-house rhythms with ‘60s guitar pop. The Stone Roses found huge success with their 1989 self-titled debut album, which defined the British indie-rock scene at the time. Then after a lengthy legal battle with their record label Silvertone, the Stone Roses eventually signed to Geffen Records and released their second album, Second Coming, in 1994. It would not be until 2012 that the Stone Roses would play together again; however, their influence echoed throughout the ’90s Brit-pop movement.
