    … And Justice for All was the fourth studio album made by the heavy metal band Metallica. It was released on August 25, 1988 on Elektra records. This was also the first Metallica album to feature Jason Newsted on bass after the tragic death of Cliff Burton. The album has quite a dark subject matter with references to freedom, hate, insanity and war. The album was recorded between January and May 1988 at the One-On-One studios in LA. The album sold over 8 million copies in the United States and was the best selling album Metallica Had released.
