Blues Vinyl
Blues is a style of music that emerged from the African American community in the early 1800's. It is the basis for other African American musical innovations such as jazz, r&b, and rock. The genre has a wide variety of sounds, styles and instrumentation associated with it, but the blues is most recognizable by its use of "blue" notes--Or, notes that are played at a lower pitch than notes on a major scale. Another common signature of the blues is "call and response"--where one musican performs a part, and another "answers" the original part with another part. The Blues are truly one of the great musical innovations, and one of the most important innovations for American music ever. Hear this great music on vinyl for the ultimate musical experience.
