Electronica Vinyl
Electronica is a blanket word describing the various forms of electronic music. This music is generated with computers, electronic keyboards and synthesizers, and does occasionally use acoustic instrumentation as well. Under the umbrella of electronica are various sub-genres such as House, Techno, Drum and Bass, and Ambient. The styles of various artists producing electronic music vary greatly, but many feature intricate rhythms, heavy bass, samples, and sound effects. It seems counterproductive to produce a song in digital format, then convert it to analog for pressing onto vinyl. The truth is that this music is often produced digitally, but at a much higher quality than CDs. The result on vinyl is great. Bass sounds smoother, and the dynamic range is extended. Why do you think so many DJs still swear by vinyl?
