Heavy Metal
Heavy Metal is a style of rock music with loud, distorted guitar sound (hence the name "heavy"). The beginnings of metal came in the 1970's with Black Sabbath, but the first really big "metal" band was Metallica. This style of music continues to evolve today, with tons of new bands playing a newer metal sound (with the help of computers). Many of the greats still release albums and tour.
